Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
