Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah) before The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
