Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
