Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
