Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 When the stars are obliterated, 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples. 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
