Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 Till an appointed term, 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 as black camels. 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
