Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 and raise (clouds) and scatter them around, 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 and place it in a secure place 21 for an appointed term? 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 and yellow camels. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
