Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds sent forth with beneficence. 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 and the severally severing 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 and place it in a secure place 21 until an appointed time? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 For the living and the dead, 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 40
