Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 storming tempestuously 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 the living and the dead? 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
