Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 and the severally severing 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 for an appointed time? 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 for the living and the dead, 26 place on it high mountains and provide you with fresh water? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 “Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame.” 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
