Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 The Day of Judgement. 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 The living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 as black camels. 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
