The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ What are they asking (one another)? 1 Of the mighty Announcement, 2 That over which they are in disagreement. 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 And once again: Nay, but in time they will come to understand! 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 Have We not created you in pairs, 8 And We made your sleep to be rest (to you), 9 and made the night a covering, 10 And the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We built above you seven strong ones, 12 and We appointed a blazing lamp 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water. 14 That We may bring forth thereby corn and herbs, 15 and gardens dense with follage. 16 Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 On that day the trumpet will be sounded and you will come (to Us) in huge groups. 18 The heavens will be opened wide and turn into so many doors, 19 And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage. 20 Surely, Hell lies in wait, 21 It will be a place of return 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 They will not taste therein cool or any drink. 24 except boiling water and pus, 25 A fitting recompense (for them). 26 They indeed hoped not for a reckoning, 27 And rejected Our signs as lies. 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 So taste (of that which ye have earned). No increase do We give you save of torment. 30
