The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 About the great tidings! 2 that they are in utter disagreement? 3 No! They are going to know. 4 Again, indeed, they shall know! 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 and the mountains as pegs (to anchor the earth)? 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 and gave you repose in sleep, 9 and the night as a cover, 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 And placed a lamp therein brightly burning. 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water. 14 so that We might bring forth thereby grain, and herbs, 15 And gardens of thick growth. 16 Surely the day of decision is (a day) appointed: 17 On that Day when the trumpet shall be sounded, you shall come in droves, 18 and when the sky shall be opened up and will become all doors; 19 And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 a resort for the rebellious; 22 They will abide therein for ages. 23 They will not taste therein cool or any drink. 24 Except scalding water and [foul] purulence - 25 An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes). 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 We have kept account of everything in a book. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30
