In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Of what ask they? 1 About the awesome tiding [of resurrection,] 2 That over which they are in disagreement. 3 No indeed; soon will they come to know; 4 And once again: Nay, but in time they will come to understand! 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 and the mountains as pegs (to anchor the earth)? 7 and created you in pairs (as men and women), 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 and We appointed day for a livelihood. 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour? 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water, 14 so that We might bring forth thereby grain, and herbs, 15 And dense gardens. 16 Surely the day of decision is (a day) appointed: 17 the Day when the Trumpet shall be blown, and you will come forth in multitudes; 18 And the heavens shall be opened as if there were doors, 19 The mountains will be driven away and become like mirages. 20 Certainly Hell lies in wait, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 therein they shall abide for ages, 23 Therein taste they neither coolness nor (any) drink 24 except boiling water and pus, 25 An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes). 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 And all things have We preserved on record. 29 'Taste! We shall increase you not save in chastisement.' 30
