۞ ABOUT WHAT do they [most often] ask one another? 1 (Is it) of the great announcement 2 About which they differ? 3 Nay! they shall soon come to know 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 made sleep for you to rest, 9 And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), 10 And made the day as a means of subsistence? 11 And We have built above you seven firmaments, 12 and We appointed a blazing lamp 13 and sent down heavy rains from the clouds 14 So that We bring forth thereby corn and vegetation. 15 And orchards full of trees and interlacing boughs. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts, 18 and heaven is opened, and become gates, 19 And the mountains will be moved – they will therefore become like mirages. 20 Surely, Hell lies in wait, 21 a home for the transgressors, 22 In it shall they remain for a long time. 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink. 24 only burning despair and ice-cold darkness: 25 An appropriate recompense. 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 And denied Our verses with [emphatic] denial. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 'Taste! We shall increase you not save in chastisement.' 30
