The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 About the Great News 2 Regarding which they hold different views. 3 Indeed they will come to know soon; 4 Surely, they will soon find out the truth! 5 Have We not made the earth as a place to rest 6 and the mountains as pegs (to anchor the earth)? 7 And We have created you in pairs; 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 made the night as a covering, 10 and We appointed day for a livelihood. 11 We raised over you several secure (skies), 12 and We appointed a blazing lamp 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water, 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 And gardens of thick growth. 16 Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 It is a Day whereon the trumpet will be blown, and ye will come in multitudes. 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. 20 Hell will lie in wait (for its prey). 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 Where they will remain for aeons, 23 Neither coolness shall they taste therein nor any [thirst-quenching] drink 24 Save scalding water and corruption. 25 Recompense fitted! 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 And they denied Our signs to the extreme. 28 And We have recorded everything in a book, 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30
