The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ What do they question each other about! 1 About the awesome tidings [of resurrection] 2 That over which they are in disagreement. 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 Surely, they will soon find out the truth! 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 The mountains tent-pins? 7 And (have We not) created you in pairs, 8 And have appointed your sleep for repose, 9 and We made the night a mantle, 10 and We made the day for a livelihood. 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance, 14 so that We may thereby bring forth grain and vegetation, 15 And gardens of thick growth. 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 It is a Day whereon the trumpet will be blown, and ye will come in multitudes. 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 It will be a place of return 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 They will not taste therein cool or any drink. 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 a meet requital [for their sins]! 26 They were those who did not expect a reckoning, 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 And everything We have recorded in a book. 29 So taste (of that which ye have earned). No increase do We give you save of torment. 30
