The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Of what ask they? 1 About the great event, 2 concerning which they are in disagreement! 3 No indeed; soon will they come to know; 4 Nay! Nay! they shall soon know. 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 And We have created you in pairs, 8 made sleep for you to rest, 9 made the night as a covering, 10 and made the day to seek livelihood, 11 And We have built above you seven strong ones, 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 And We send down from the clouds water pouring forth abundantly, 14 that We may bring forth with it grain, plants 15 and gardens dense with follage. 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown – you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 and heaven is opened, and become gates, 19 And the mountains will have been removed away, and they will have become as mirage. 20 Surely hell lies in wait, 21 A home for the rebellious. 22 They will remain in it for ages. 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink. 24 except boiling water and pus 25 An appropriate recompense. 26 Verily they were wont not to look for a reckoning. 27 But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false. 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment, 30
