The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Of what do they question one another? 1 About the awesome tiding [of resurrection,] 2 concerning which they are in disagreement! 3 No indeed; they shall soon know! 4 Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know! 5 Did We not make the earth a spreading, 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 and We appointed a blazing lamp 13 And We sent down rain from water-laden clouds pouring in torrents 14 So that We bring forth thereby corn and vegetation. 15 And gardens dense and luxuriant. 16 Surely the day of decision is (a day) appointed: 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 And the mountains shall be moved off so that they shall remain a mere semblance. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 for the insolent a resort, 22 for the rebellious ones and they will live therein for ages. 23 They will not taste therein cool or any drink. 24 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, 25 Recompense fitted! 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
