The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
