And indeed Nooh prayed to Us – so what an excellent Acceptor of Prayer We are! 75 And We delivered him and his followers from the mighty distress. 76 and We made his offspring the survivors. 77 And left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 78 Peace be unto Noah among the peoples! 79 Verily, thus We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 80 Surely he was one of Our truly believing servants. 81 Then We did drown the others. 82 ۞ And indeed Ibrahim is from his (Nooh’s) group. 83 When he came unto his Lord with a whole heart; 84 and said to his father and his people: “Whom do you worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood aliha (gods) other than Allah that you seek? 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 And he glanced a glance at the stars 88 and said: 'Surely, I am sick (of what you worship)' 89 All the people turned away from him 90 Then he turned towards their gods and said: "Why do you not eat (of these offerings)? 91 What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he turned upon them, striking them with his right hand, 93 So the disbelievers came running towards him. 94 but he said, "How can you worship things you carve with your own hands, 95 “Whereas Allah has created you and your actions?” 96 They said: Build for him a building and fling him in the red-hotfire. 97 They plotted against him, but We brought humiliation upon them. 98 And [Abraham] said: "Verily, I shall [leave this land and] go wherever my Sustainer will guide me!" 99 My Lord, give me one of the righteous.' 100 So We gave him the good news of a clement son. 101 And when he reached the age of traveling with him, he said: 'My son, while I was sleeping I saw that I shall slaughter (sacrifice) you, tell me what is your opinion' He replied: 'Father, do as you are ordered (by Allah). Allah willing, you shall find me one of those who are steadfast' 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 We cried unto him: O Ibrahim 104 You have fulfilled your dream." Thus do We reward the good. 105 Verily, that indeed was a manifest trial 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (i.e. a ram); 107 And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good. 110 He is truly among Our faithful creatures. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Is-haq, a prophet, and of the righteous. 112 and blessed him and Isaac too: some of their offspring were good, but some clearly sinned against their souls. 113
