The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 And when the pages are made public 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 and the night that falls, 17 And the breath of morning 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
