Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By oath of those that sprint, breathing heavily. (The horses used in Holy War.) 1 by the strikers of fire, 2 And raiding at dawn 3 And raise the dust in clouds the while, 4 cleaving there with a host! 5 Most surely man is ungrateful to his Lord. 6 To this he himself shall bear witness. 7 And lo! in the love of wealth he is violent. 8 ۞ So does he not know? When those in the graves are raised, 9 and that which is in the breasts is brought out -- 10 surely on that day their Lord shall be aware of them! 11
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
