Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what have you understood, how tremendous the true event is! 3 The people of Thamud and Ad denied the Day of Judgment. 4 Now as for the Thamud - they were destroyed by a violent upheaval [of the earth]; 5 And as for A’ad, they were destroyed by a severe thundering windstorm. 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 Can you see any of their survivors? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 and rebelled against their Sustainer's apostles: and so He took them to task with a punishing grasp exceedingly severe! 10 Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship 11 so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. 12 When the single blast is sounded on the trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, 14 Then, on that day will the Event befall. 15 and the sky will be rent asunder - for, frail will it have become on that Day; 16 The angels will stand on all its sides. And on that Day, eight (of them) will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed. 18 Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! 19 Verily I was sure that I should be a meeter of my reckoning. 20 Then he shall be in a life well-pleasing 21 in a lofty garden, 22 The fruits of which are near at hand: 23 Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past! 24 As for him whose Record will be given to him in his left hand, he will exclaim: “Would that I had never been given my Record, 25 and not known my reckoning! 26 O would that it had made an end (of me): 27 My wealth hath not availed me, 28 There hath perished from me my authority. 29 (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. 30 "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. 31 then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. 32 Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, 33 And urged not on the feeding of the wretched. 34 therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 "Which none do eat but those in sin." 37
