The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
