The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 And by those who float in space, 3 By the angels hastening, 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
