Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder, 1 And when the stars fall, scattering, 2 And when the seas are made to flow forth, 3 And when the graves are laid open, 4 Every soul shall know what it has sent before and held back. 5 O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous, 6 who created you, fashioned you and proportioned you, 7 He moulded you into whatever shape He willed. 8 Nay! But you deny the Recompense (reward for good deeds and punishment for evil deeds). 9 yet there are over you watchers 10 Kiraman (honourable) Katibin writing down (your deeds). 11 Who know what you do. 12 the virtuous will dwell in bliss, 13 And verily, the Fujjar (the wicked, disbelievers, sinners and evil-doers) will be in the blazing Fire (Hell), 14 Roasted they shall be therein on the Day of Requital. 15 And they (Al-Fujjar) will not be absent therefrom (i.e. will not go out from the Hell). 16 And what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? 17 Again, what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 18 On that day, no soul will be of any benefit to any other soul. On that day, all affairs will be in the hands of God. 19
