The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
