The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul of the disbeliever. 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 The day the convulsive first blast shatters convulsively 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 "When we have become decayed bones?" 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 and hastily turned away, 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
