The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 And by those who float in space, 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 And the second followeth it, 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
