The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And those who govern the event, 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
