The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 by those that swim serenely 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
