The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 and gently take it away; 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
