The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
