The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
