The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
