He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ (The Prophet (Peace be upon him)) frowned and turned away, 1 that the blind man came to him. 2 And what would make you know that he would purify himself, 3 Or be admonished, and the admonition profit him? 4 But the self-sufficient, 5 To him you give attention. 6 Though it is not your concern if he should not grow. 7 As for him who comes to you striving, 8 and who has fear of God, 9 Of him you are neglectful and divert your attention to another, 10 No indeed; it is a Reminder 11 Let him who will, pay heed to it. 12 On honourable pages. 13 Exalted and purified, 14 [Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels, 15 Honourable and obedient. 16 Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he. 17 From what stuff hath He created him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm! He creates and proportions him, 19 Then He eased the way for him; 20 Then He causes him to die, and puts him in his grave; 21 Then, when He will, He bringeth him again to life. 22 Certainly, he has not duly fulfilled His commands. 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 [how it is] that We pour down water, pouring it down abundantly; 25 Then We split the earth properly. 26 to yield therein corn, 27 and vines, and reeds, 28 olives, dates, 29 and dense-tree'd gardens, 30 And fruits and fodder,- 31 Provision for you and your cattle. 32 When the trumpet sounds, 33 On the day when a man fleeth from his brother 34 his mother, his father, 35 and his consort and his children; 36 On that day, each one has just one issue, which is enough for him. 37 Some faces that Day will be beaming, 38 laughing, and rejoicing, 39 Some faces on that Day shall be dust-ridden, 40 Darkness shall cover them. 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked. 42
