He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned (his) back, 1 Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting). 2 But what would make you perceive, [O Muhammad], that perhaps he might be purified 3 or yet remember, and the Reminder profit him. 4 As for him who considers himself free from need (of you), 5 you attended to him, 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 but as for one who comes to you, eagerly 8 and fears (Allah), 9 him didst thou disregard! 10 Nay! surely it is an admonishment. 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 Exalted, Purified, 14 In the hands of scribes (angels). 15 noble, pious. 16 Perish Man! How unthankful he is! 17 From what thing did He create him? 18 From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion; 19 Then made his passage easy (at birth); 20 Then He causes him to die, and puts him in his grave; 21 then, He will raise him when He wills. 22 But no. He has not fulfilled what was enjoined on him. 23 Then let man look to his food, 24 How We poured down water in torrents, 25 and then We cleaved the earth asunder. 26 how We made the grain to grow, 27 And grapes and vegetables 28 And the olive and the palm, 29 And thick gardens, 30 And fruits and herbage: 31 For use and convenience to you and your cattle. 32 So when the deafening Shout arrives, 33 On that day man will run away from his brother. 34 Mother and father, 35 his wife and his children. 36 For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 Laughing, joyous. 39 Some faces on that Day shall be dust-ridden, 40 Blackness will cover them. 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones. 42
