The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 where then are you going? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
