The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when souls are united, 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
