The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 and the night that falls, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
