The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
