The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And the breath of morning 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Then where are you going? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
