The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
