Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 And when the books are spread, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
