The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 by the night when it approaches 17 The rising dawn, 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
