The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Where then are you going? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
