The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 that hide, 16 And the close of night, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 When whither go ye? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
