Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven shall be cleft, 1 When the Stars are scattered; 2 And when the oceans are swept away. 3 and when the graves are overturned 4 Each soul will know what it had sent ahead and what it had left behind. 5 O man! What is it that lures you away from your bountiful Sustainer, 6 Who created you, then made you complete, then made you symmetrical? 7 In whatever Form He wills, does He put thee together. 8 Nay! But you deny the Recompense (reward for good deeds and punishment for evil deeds). 9 yet there are over you watchers 10 Honourablel scribes. 11 who know all that you do: 12 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 13 But the wicked, indeed they shall be in the Fiery Furnace, 14 They will enter it on the Day of Justice. 15 And they shall by no means be absent from it. 16 What could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 17 Again, what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 18 It will be a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to any other human being, God [alone] will hold command on that Day. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
