Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the sky is split, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the seas are made to flow forth, 3 And when the Graves are turned upside down;- 4 the soul shall know what it has done, the former and the latter. 5 Human being, what evil has deceived you about your Gracious Lord, 6 Who created you, shaped you, and made you well-proportioned, 7 and composed thee after what form He would? 8 Nay! but you give the lie to the judgment day, 9 And most surely there are keepers over you 10 Honorable recorders, 11 They know (and understand) all that ye do. 12 Verily, the Abrar (pious and righteous) will be in delight (Paradise); 13 But the wicked, indeed they shall be in the Fiery Furnace, 14 In which they will enter, and taste its burning flame on the Day of Recompense, 15 and which they shall not [be able to] evade. 16 And what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 17 Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? 18 It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allah. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
